Compliance Specialist Role:
In this highly detailed role, you will be responsible for leading all compliance programs, processes, and oversight for the company in their multi-state business.
Responsible for being the final check off on compliance files before sending to the client for their due diligence.
Managing compliance for approximately 200 drivers.
Understand and set up efficient compliance practices for all client contracts
Monitor any state or federal regulatory changes that impact contracts, company, and/or drivers
Understand and ensure all corporate licensing and compliance requirements are met and maintained
Oversees the Driver on-boarding processes, ensuring compliance with and adherence to all operator credentialing prior to approval for service
Ensure Drivers are on-boarded in a timely manner and all locations have the required number of
Drivers based on contractual obligations
Monitor a compliance database for expiring or changing requirements to ensure 100% adherence to all requirements at all times
Create and maintain profiles in the company’s database and ensure drivers make the transition within a 90-day period. Provide monthly reporting to QC Manager.
Track required driver certifications, notifying Managers when certifications are expiring. Ensure notifications go out to drivers through the company’s internal system. Collaborate with the Quality Control Center regarding driver’s required certification renewals and/or license renewals – new system would make notification.
Build strong working relationships with Quality Center and Division Management.
Act as company’s designated employer representative who is authorized to manage the Drug & Alcohol/Random Program. This would include: Recognize unsafe workplace situations that involve the suspected use of drugs and/or alcohol in team members in safety-sensitive positions, taking appropriate, and sometimes immediate, action in these situations. This may include the decision to remove a safety-sensitive employee from duty. Handle administrative duties related to management of the drug and alcohol testing program.
Utilize cloud-based programs for data entry, monitoring, and reporting of company compliance
Build and maintain effective partnerships with key business partners
Provide monthly compliance reporting to executive team
Partner with Managers to ensure all vehicle insurance, registration and maintenance is correctly managed
Be an active voice in the growth of the organization
Compliance Specialist Background Profile:
High School Diploma or the equivalent
College degree or some college courses is a plus
3-5 years’ experience in compliance, specifically in the NEMT, Paratransit, or Government
Drug and Alcohol Program Management required
DER – Designated Employer’s Representative Certification required
Strong MS Office Suite – specifically strong in Excel – vlookups, formulas, etc.
Knowledge of cloud-based filing systems and online recruiting applications
Excellent data entry skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of U.S. DOT requirements including 49 CFR 40; 49 CFR 219, and 49 CFR Part 382
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license
