Civil Litigation Legal Assistant Role:
The Civil Litigation Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive support to multiple attorneys within a busy litigation practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities include:
Providing litigation support for multiple attorneys handling civil litigation matters.
Drafting, reviewing, proofreading, and formatting pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, deposition notices, and discovery responses.
Creating and maintaining litigation document templates.
Managing case files and maintaining accurate document organization.
Coordinating state and federal electronic court filings.
Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
Scheduling meetings, court appearances, travel arrangements, and client appointments.
Communicating professionally with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Preparing correspondence, expense reports, presentations, and legal documentation.
Organizing exhibits and supporting materials for litigation proceedings.
Assisting with billing, filing, data entry, and administrative responsibilities.
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards.
The Civil Litigation Legal Assistant will play a vital role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle while ensuring deadlines are met and client service expectations are exceeded.
Civil Litigation Legal Assistant Background Profile:
Should have years of experience and degree that is required
Associate degree or higher preferred
Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation legal assistant experience required
Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
State and federal e-filing experience required
Experience with PACER and federal court procedures
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience creating Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities
Experience drafting and formatting discovery responses, motions, and legal briefs
Familiarity with NetDocuments and Clio is preferred but not required
Knowledge of appellate procedures is a plus
Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Professional demeanor and commitment to client confidentiality
