Billing Coordinator
Job Description
Our client located in Houston, TX needs a Billing Coordinator. This is a direct hire, onsite opportunity.
Company Profile:
Established professional services organization with multiple office locations.
Billing Coordinator Role:
Responsible for supporting the full billing cycle and day to day billing operations within a fast paced professional services environment
Works closely with accounting leadership, attorneys, and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate client invoicing
Reports directly to the Accounting Manager and serves as a key member of the accounting team
Reviews and edits pre bills and invoices in accordance with client guidelines and internal procedures
Generates and distributes invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner
Processes billing corrections, adjustments, write offs, and invoice updates as needed
Maintains accurate client, matter, and billing information within the accounting system
Assists with new matter setup requests and internal conflict checks
Researches billing histories and responds to billing related inquiries and reporting requests
Prepares billing reports and supports financial analysis requests from management
Communicates professionally with attorneys, staff, and external contacts regarding billing matters
Provides backup support for other billing team members and assists with additional accounting projects as assigned
Billing Coordinator Background Profile:
3+ years of billing coordination experience within a mid size or large professional services environment
Previous legal industry experience required
Experience working with Aderant required
Strong understanding of billing cycles, invoice processing, billing corrections, and client account maintenance
Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills required
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to analyze billing histories and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor with strong internal and external customer service skills
Self motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
