Benefits Administrator    
Our client, located in West Houston, TX, is in need of a Benefits Administrator for a Direct Hire opportunity.

The Benefit Administrator  Role:
Responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day operations of the benefit program which includes group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’ s compensation, life insurance and accident plan, HAS spending plan, 401(k) plan and retirement plan
Will be responsible for finding quality benefit plans
Design employee benefits plans
Create a wellness plan
Continuous improvement of processes, policies and procedures including creating SOP’ s for benefit administration when necessary
Primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators
Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
Ensure government compliance
Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDRO’ s, QMCSO’ s, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing for all locations
Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company’ s stance.
Manage the open enrollment process.
Monthly reconciliation on all benefit plans
Plan audits 
Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs
Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’ s benefits package.
Manage all FMLA, STD, LTD and LOA requests, including verifying job and salary information for approvals.
Manage benefit issues, research, investigations and resolutions. 
Become subject matter expert on the benefit administration system (Paychex-BeneTrac)

Background Profile:
Bachelor’ s degree with 5+ year of full cycle benefits administration experience within an HR department supporting 500 or more employees
CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, and/or PHR/SPHR certification is a plus
Strong computer skills
Previous experience with Benefit Administration Software
SharePoint experience is a plus
Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on the proposals (RFPs).
Strong working knowledge of benefits contract language.
Strong background in administering 401(k) programs.
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
