Our client in Dallas, TX has an immediate opening for a Bakery Merchandiser on a direct hire basis.

Bakery Merchandiser Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Bakery Merchandiser who thrives on innovation and is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience across all our store locations. This role is pivotal in achieving departmental sales and profit goals while ensuring top-notch quality standards. The Bakery Merchandiser will oversee all Bakery department operations, foster a culture of excellence, and promote the company’s core values.
Develop schedules to balance customer demand with associate availability.
Foster a welcoming and appreciative environment for customers and associates by providing product information and assistance.
Design and implement Plan-o-grams/Schematics that enhance the shopping experience through efficient product placement and SKU rationalization.
Achieve budgeted sales, profit, and labor goals for the department.
Develop and maintain sales strategies aligned with current trends, seasonal changes, and special promotions.
Assist in preparing budgets and financial reviews, taking necessary actions based on reports.
Monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and ensure optimal stocking conditions.
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly price adjustments through shelf tags and promotional signs.
Plan, organize, and supervise inventory processes.
Engage in hands-on store operations during scheduled shifts to ensure smooth functioning.
Communicate relevant information to associates and establish performance goals.
Control departmental expenses and coach associates to meet performance standards.
Train associates on inventory management and ordering procedures using production logs.
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and oversee new store setups, remodels, and resets in collaboration with the Foodservice Director.
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
Maintain compliance with all food safety guidelines and proper temperature controls.
Ensure associate participation in mandatory training programs and adherence to company policies.
Promote safety by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and conducting preventive maintenance.
Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for the Bakery departments.
Achieves results through teamwork and effective coaching.
Communicates effectively and candidly.

Prioritizes customer satisfaction.
Bakery Merchandiser Background Profile:
3-5 years of multi-unit Bakery management experience with a focus on scratch-baked items.
High school diploma or equivalent
Management experience and food safety certification preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Knowledge of recipe development, food costing, gross margin, and department budgets.
Ability to handle stressful situations and work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must meet the physical demands of the position and be 18 years or older.
Previous food retail experience.

Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
