Our client in Goldsboro, NC has an immediate need for an Assistant Controller on a Direct Hire basis.

Assistant Controller Role: 
The Assistant Controller will oversee and lead the Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable functions as well as review cost accounting operations to confirm the accuracy of product information in an actual cost system. 
Coordinates the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations.
Oversees inventory consistency and monitors cycle activity to ensure compliance with stated policy.
Conducts monthly closing, financial reporting and analysis in a compressed 3-day reporting schedule.
Oversees all account reconciliations to ensure they completed on a timely basis.
Analyzes and reports on budgeting vs actual performance.
Responsible for the training and development of all members of the Finance Team.
Determines the Finance Team workload and conducts process improvement measures as required. Participates in the weekly cost productivity reviews and validates cost savings on a quarterly basis.
Assists with the preparation of financial data for quarterly business unit presentations.
Monitors compliance with internal control procedures and SOX requirements. 
Coordination of all external audit activities including timely provision of audit schedules as required.
Assists with process system upgrades.

Assistant Controller Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college in Accounting or Finance 
5-8 years of progressive accounting experience
Must have in-depth operational knowledge of accounting systems, manufacturing, and cost accounting
Preferred experience in high mix/low volume manufacturing environment
Problem solving, critical thinking and creativity skills are essential.
