Applications Support Analyst Role:
The Applications Support Analyst is the liaison between the users and the techs who design and manage the company's applications
Spend majority of the time shadowing, listening, and helping end users
Encourage use of the system and support understanding of how the applications can be used to make end user's role that much easier
Bring any suggestions back to the techs based on time spent with end users
Primary responsibility is to assist in the planning, development, implementation, and support of the IT applicationsÂ
Take part in application vendor management activities such as key accountabilities
Project Tracking and ReportingÂ
Responsible for measuring and monitoring the status of application projects goals while staying within budgets, scope, and time.
Assist in defining the business entity’s needs of IT
Create the detailed IT solution/service design to meet quality & performance requirements and technical constraints
Ensure designs produced adhere to the architectural roadmap and support the development, execution, and operations of service
Develop, build, and integrate unit testing solutions for functional and technical specifications to meet requirements
Perform testing and debugging of documenting applications
Validate solutions to meet quality, performance, architectural, and functional requirements
Assist in the implementation of applications by analysing the current system environment
Perform complex product customization and develop implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful installation of systems hardware/software
Perform all activities tied to implementation and maintenance of the application
Develop and recommend technical strategies and solutions to management
Manage configurations and identify IT components needed to deliver IT ServicesÂ
Build and maintain strong partnerships with the business and application owners and other IT managers
Work with business users to identify and prioritize application support needs, issues and development projects
Assist the Manager on sourcing to ensure best possible solution or resource
Understand the business requirements, and drivers so that the solution delivery is aligned with the business
Ensure suppliers meet quality service delivery metrics, monitor work their support and be familiar with SLAs
Applications Support Analyst Background Profile:
A Degree preferably in Engineering or Computer Science is required
3+ years of solution design experience within a complex multi-site, multi-system/application environmentÂ
Must have strong understanding of SQL applications
Experience with project and IT budget management experience
Record of on-time, on-budget, and to-specification delivery of projects
Experience in IT applications and systems is required
3+ years of proven shipping domain experience is preferred but not required
Technical/functional understanding of Application Architecture best practices
