Great opportunity with our client in Pensacola, FL for an Accounting Manager on a direct hire basis.
Provider of software, hardware and engineering services for a variety of industries
Accounting Manager Role:
In this role, you will come with full cycle closing experience for a mid-size company and can take full ownership of this.
You will be the lead for the accounting close process
Responsible for 2 direct reports and for reviewing the work of your staff to ensure accuracy
Perform accounting research on an as needed basis and ensure accounting records are in compliance with GAAP
Account reconciliation in the General Ledger
Report to the Director of Finance and work closely with other accounting teams
Communicate regarding complex accounting topics and intercompany transactions
Responsible for providing accounting support for company personnel as well as customer contacts

Accounting Manager Background Profile:
Bachelor’ s degree in accounting
Master’ s degree is a plus
CPA or candidate to sit for it is a plus, but not required
Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required
7+ years’ experience in general accounting
3+ years’ experience managing a team of accountants
If you bring to the table years of experience in specialized accounting roles or finance areas, these will be considered also.
Experience will full cycle of closing the books required
The ideal candidate will be resourceful, proactive, energetic, and desire to work in a team environment.
You will have good tenure and longevity in roles, ready to take action and contribute, have a humble personality, be driven and high standards for yourself and your work.
Ability to collect, organize, analyze and present data for purposes of evaluation and decision making
Ability to analyze financials and create management reports
Knowledge and ability to practically apply accounting theory to business issues
Intermediate Excel knowledge of macros, pivot tables, and other reporting methods
Accounting software experience and the ability to learn new software systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and accuracy are a must
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and exercise good time management and organizational skills
Proven top performer in past jobs
