Accounting Manager Role:
In this role, you will oversee the general accounting and financial reporting for the company.
Responsibilities include supervising the monthly accounting close process, preparing financial reports for the parent company, addressing technical accounting issues and leading the implementation of new accounting practices.
The role also involves managing the annual audit and coordinating all audit-related tasks with external auditors, as well as creating the company's audited financial statements.
Oversee the monthly accounting close process to generate financial statements in line with US GAAP standards.
Supervise the Accountant and review their work to ensure proper management of accounting functions.
Review accounting policies to ensure compliance with parent company guidelines in collaboration with the rest of the parent company accounting team.
Collaborate with the Finance Manager to develop internal company reports that support business needs and goals.Â
Provide necessary financial information to the parent company, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, reserve schedules, footnote data, and other relevant information.
Lead efforts to identify technical accounting issues and implement suitable accounting practices.
Manage the annual company audit conducted by external auditors.
Develop, document, and ensure adherence to proper internal financial controls.
Stay informed about current accounting topics and communicate key updates to the CFO.
Assist in researching, designing, and implementing new accounting processes and procedures.
Accounting Manager Background Profile:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
5+ years of experience with increasing responsibility, either in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and industry roles.
Strong ability to develop and manage financial statements, including accompanying footnotes.
Proven track record with external audits, either as an auditor or a client.
Experience with ASC 842 Leases, including lease identification, accounting, and disclosures.
ERP experience – NetSuite is preferred
Experience with Workiva is advantageous.
MS Office Suite - specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
Proficient in prioritizing tasks, multitasking, and excelling in a fast-paced environment.
Capable of maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proven expertise in analyzing complex accounting issues, implementing strategies, and effectively communicating results to stakeholders.
Skilled in performing technical accounting research across a variety of authoritative literature sources.
