Staff Accountant Role:
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and contribute to the integrity of intercompany and general ledger activities.
Develop a strong understanding of the company’s operational workflows, financial systems, and general ledger framework
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and allocations across multiple entities, resolving discrepancies promptly
Partner with internal departments to investigate and correct intercompany transaction issues, ensuring accurate financial reporting
Prepare and post credit card accruals and reclassifications as needed
Execute month-end close duties, including journal entry preparation and reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all transactions are accurately reflected in the financial records
Evaluate current procedures and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Support special finance and accounting projects or requests as assigned
Staff Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
2–4 years of experience in general ledger-focused accounting roles
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to accuracy and detail
Proven ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines
Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred
Hands-on experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Exposure to captive insurance, self-funded medical plans, and multi-state sales tax compliance preferred
