Job Description
Our client located in Scottsdale, AZ is adding a Senior Accountant to their team. This is a direct hire opportunity that starts as a 1099 and converts to a W2 in 2027.

Senior Accountant Role:
The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accounting lead for the organization and play a key role in stabilizing and organizing the accounting function during a period of transition and growth.
This position is heavily transactional and high volume, requiring someone comfortable working in the weeds while managing core accounting operations independently.
Responsibilities include:
• preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• maintaining the general ledger and reconciliations
• overseeing journal entries and month end close
• processing and managing high volume accounting activity
• supporting audit and tax preparation activities
• improving accounting workflows and helping automate manual processes
• assisting with cleanup and structure within the accounting department
• eventually helping oversee and delegate work to a future Staff Accountant
Senior Accountant Background Profile:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• experience handling full cycle accounting responsibilities
• strong reconciliations, month end close, and financial reporting experience
• advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• high attention to detail in a fast paced environment
Preferred:
• Senior Accountant level experience
• professional services industry background
• Sage Intacct experience
• experience cleaning up or improving disorganized accounting processes
• CPA or CMA designation

• willingness to operate in a hands on, high volume accounting environment
