Senior Project Accountant
We are currently looking to add a highly experienced Senior Project Accountant to our esteemed company situated on the west side of the Dallas, Texas metro area. This key position has opened up as a result of the remarkable growth our company has achieved over the past year. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in construction industry accounting, excel in a smaller organizational setting, and be open to an in-office role. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly customer billing process to ensure accuracy and compliance with client specifications.
- Engage with clients to address payment documentation and promptly resolve any invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts receivable and take appropriate actions to recover overdue balances.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of subcontractor payments.
- Compile, organize, and maintain essential compliance documentation.
- Participate in project close-out procedures to ensure precise final reporting.
- Assist in both internal and external audits to uphold adherence to GAAP and internal controls.
- Identify and implement enhancements to streamline accounting operations.
- Contribute to the improvement of ERP systems, focusing on efficiency and automation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Generate monthly financial reports and conduct thorough account analyses.
- Review account and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of project accounting experience in the construction industry.
- Strong background in project invoicing, billing, and job cost accounting.
- Proficient in percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and WIP reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
- Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Experience with CMiC software is considered a plus.
