Job Description
Our fast-growing client in Antioch, TN is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations and support continued company growth. This is a hands-on and detail-oriented position ideal for someone with a background in distribution and excellent knowledge of NetSuite ERP.
Controller Company Profile:
Our client is a rapidly growing distribution company that partners with retail, wholesale, and foodservice customers across multiple states. The organization is entrepreneurial, team-driven, and grounded in accountability, integrity, and operational excellence. As the company expands in annual revenue, it seeks a hands-on Controller to strengthen financial operations, improve reporting accuracy, and support continued growth.
Controller Job Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Commissions
Manage bank reconciliations, daily cash management, and cash flow forecasting
Ensure accurate inventory and COGS reporting, including landed cost and freight allocations
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to produce accurate, timely financial statements
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to guide business decisions
Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Partner with external CPA, tax advisors, and lenders to ensure compliance and accurate reporting
Generate management reports on profitability, margins, and key performance indicators
Administer financial processes within NetSuite ERP to ensure data integrity and efficiency
Support tax filings, insurance renewals, and other compliance requirements
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Controller Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CMA certification (preferred)
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally within distribution, wholesale, or related industries
Functional and technial proficiency in NetSuite ERP (required)
Demonstrated success managing cash flow, financial reporting, and month-end close in a multi-entity environment
Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and margin analysis
Hands-on, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment that values accountability and collaboration
