In this role, you will perform daily operational accounting, treasury, and accounting close and assist with audit work performed by an outside auditor.
You will handle responsibilities including working closely with others in the Accounting and Finance Group, other company departments, and external parties such as banks, contractors, service providers, lenders, etc.
Perform day-to-day operations for accounts payable and receivable.
Monitor daily cash transactions requested by project companies to ensure sufficient intra-month liquidity.
Provide guidance and support for the Plant accountants as requested.
Ensure that all financial records are properly documented and maintained.
Prepare Bank Reconciliations.
Prepare and process month/quarter-end journal entries.
Prepare monthly/quarterly/year-end reconciliations.
Perform research and discuss budget vs actual variances with project company to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
Maintain and grow professional and technical knowledge and apply knowledge to the job.
Provide feedback to Accounting and Finance team; lead projects to enhance controls to reduce the risk of error/fraud; and drive efficiency.
Assist preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and other reports for the partner of the holding company.
Tax & Compliance Functions
Assist to prepare sales tax returns,1099s, and other necessary forms for project companies.
Set up new bank accounts and banking access to support existing project companies.
Timely and accurate preparation of monthly withdrawal certificates for operating companies.
Prepare and update cash flow report to ensure sufficient liquidity levels for operating, investing, and financing cash flows.
Process incoming and outgoing banking transactions, ACH and wire payments, and monthly funding certificates for cash disbursements.
Maintain close communication with bank regarding cash clearing.
Process payments for suppliers’ invoices in ERP.
Prepare bank-related documentation and coordinate with the company to ensure completion.
Update the bank signer and online banking system.
In addition, you will participate in various corporate meetings, training, and events to help build team cohesion.
Adopt, apply, and provide feedback on new technologies as they become available for use in the organization.
Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1-2+ years accounting experience if also possess CPA
3-4+ years of accounting experience if do not have CPA
Public accounting experience is a huge plus
Strong accounting knowledge is required
Basic understanding of US GAAP or IFRS
Experience with accounting systems.
Experience with ERP system – plus if experience with SAP by Design
Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint – Advanced Excel required
Experience in AP, AR and Cash Reconciliation.
Excellent organizational skills
Strong verbal and visual financial reporting skills.
Exceptional ability to understand complex financial information and drill down to actionable items.
Time management and prioritization skills along with attention to detail.
Knowledge of accounting systems for daily and monthly transactions.
Trustworthy and strong work ethic
Desire to work in a deadline driven environment with strong multitasking skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
Ability to create interpersonal rapport and a desire to perform functions promptly and courteously.
Must be tactful, sensitive to intercultural relationships, mature, flexible, and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
Can function autonomously, independently, and responsibly to complete tasks.
