Accountant Role:
The Accountant is primarily responsible for handling all aspects of general accounting duties
Manages accounts receivable by issuing invoices, making deposits, entering data, preparing accounts receivable reports as needed, and handling any related duties as assigned.
Assists with monthly closing by executing bank reconciliations, reviewing the general ledger, making adjusting entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, generating financial statements, and performing any duties related to monthly closings as assigned.
Supports accounting and audits by preparing requested documents and data for auditors and addressing any inquiries from them.
Carries out accounting-related administrative tasks by maintaining records and filing relevant documents.
Communicates with the Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant by reporting on the progress of closing and daily responsibilities, seeking advice on job-related issues, and reporting any irregularities or problems for resolution.
Complies with company policies, rules, and procedures by reading, understanding, and adhering to the employee handbook and other policies, cooperating with administrative requests, and following established procedures.
Performs special projects and miscellaneous duties to support the Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant in alignment with corporate objectives, completing tasks assigned by management, and fostering positive work relationships with coworkers.
Accountant Background Profile:
BS in Accounting preferred
At least 3 years of full cycle accounting experience
Proficiency with an ERP system and MS - Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation
