Job Description
Our client, located outside the Atlanta, GA area, is looking for a Director of Accounting to add to their team. This is a direct-hire, Onsite opportunity.

Director of Accounting Role:
In this role, you will report to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for managing all of the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions.
Responsible for functional responsibilities: cash management, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger accounting,
Generating and analyzing financial statements and providing financial reports to hospital management and stakeholders, such as board of directors or executive team.
Rolling forecast analysis, variance, and trend analysis
Monitor contractual allowance calculations, what payments go out on signed contracts are following individual payor contracts (Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS, Aetna, etc)
Leading and managing the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Serve as financial advisor and resource to other departments and senior management.
Responsible for implementing a system of internal controls and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies, ways to reduce costs
Participate in projects and initiatives to drive and enhance financial improvement and performance.
Director of Accounting Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
Masters or CPA preferred, not required
5-10 years relevant accounting & managerial experience in Healthcare Financial Accounting
A solid grasp of GAAP is required
Strong leadership, management, and presentation skills is required
Ability to translate financial terms for non-financial staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate & collaborate with all internal departments and those outside the hospital system
Proficiency with EPIC, Meditech ERP, and Allscripts is preferred but if not strong computer skills
