Senior Financial Analyst Role:
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for various complex analytical functions such as preparing budgets, explaining variances, and operational and financial decision support.
The Senior Financial Analyst must be comfortable preparing and presenting their proposals to the broader team including Senior Leadership.
May take on the role of mentor to develop analysts on their team.
Responsible for developing strong relationships with customers, peers and leaders.
Create and present material, both written and oral, to leaders.
Attend and actively participate in meetings; may lead simple or routine business meetings.
Provides ad hoc financial and operational support to leaders.
Must be able to work well with others as part of a team.
Must be customer service oriented and maintain a positive attitude while handling challenging customers.
Conduct productive one-on-one meetings.
Ability to partner with Technology and other work groups to enhance data quality and accessibility
Ability to transform raw data into easily understood, presentable and actionable findings
Ability to answer business questions using experience, logical reasoning and analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and prioritize accordingly
Ability and desire to take ownership of individual and Team deliverables
Senior Financial Analyst Background Profile:
The Senior Financial Analyst will have a Bachelor’ s degree preferably in business, finance, economics, or aviation.
1+ years of experience supporting a technology organization
1-2 years of Essbase experience is highly preferred
Ability to build solid working relationships
Ability to work independently – using minimal but highly focused input from supervisors; working with limited supervision and/or direction
Ability to guide peers and other team members in information sharing
Strong verbal and written communication skills, using presentation materials effectively to communicate important messages; show poise and confidence in formal communication
Must possess strong organizational skills
Strong PC and software skills required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint); familiarity with data querying or reporting tools preferred
Excellent analytical/strategic skills with the ability to start constructing hypotheses independently on assigned modules and/or broader work; beginning to show insight into broader context; obtaining expert status on assigned modules of work
Responsible for obtaining excellent results – taking increased responsibility for planning data requirements, including for peers
Starts recognizing value-creating opportunities, helping supervisors identify and evaluate them
