Controller / Financial Director – Refinery
Our client, located in Oklahoma City, OK, is in immediate need of a Direct Hire Controller Financial Director - Refinery for their organization.

Reports to General Manager
Responsible for setting up, managing and executing general bookkeeping, accounting transactions, cash management/banking and financial reporting for the single-plant company.
Responsibilities include the financial planning, capital and expense budgeting, and variance analysis on plant operations cost and product revenues each month
Supervises the Office Manager and Bookkeeper and is also responsible for managing product inventory and product logistics with customers in close coordination with the Plant Manager
Coordinates with outside CPA firm for annual audits and tax filings and manages other financial support services such as outsourced payroll/HR services, insurance broker, local/state/federal tax authorities,
Establishes proper controls and procedures for assuring accuracy of accounting processes and financial reporting.
Collects, compiles, analyzes, and verifies financial data to ensure the integrity of accounting records. Investigates and resolves discrepancies.
Oversees Admin/Bookkeeper in preparation of purchase orders, invoice payments to vendors and issuance of invoices to customers.
Assure that collection and compilation of transaction date (accounts payable and accounts receivable are recorded on a timely basis).
Posts journal entries and other financial transactions, maintains general ledger, and reconciles accounts.
Prepares analysis and financial reports and statements, which includes profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, variance analysis, regulatory reports and filings.
Prepares and presents financial information to management team and to Board Members
Supervises Admin/Bookkeeper in equipment spares purchase and inventory control in close coordination with operations staff.
Maintains daily records of product inventory and arrange product off-take logistics with customers in close coordination with the Plant Manager.
Manages other financial support services such as outsourced payroll/HR services, insurance broker, local/state/federal tax authorities.
Bachelor’ s degree (or higher) in accounting, finance required.
Experience in the refining and/or chemical manufacturing industry preferred.
Five (5) years of accounting experience minimum.
CPA certification preferred
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting (GAAP) principles, financial statements and reports, and ledgers and journals.
Must be very hands out and be able to book complex transactions
Ability to work effectively with outside CPA/auditor/tax support professionals.
Proficient in using small business accounting and related software systems.
Ability to review and analyze moderately complex accounting information
Ability to identify, research, and resolve accounting issues
Computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook software required.
Ability to self-direct and work with minimum supervision required.
Strong team skills and positive attitude required for “ hands-on” operations environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills
