HR Specialist Role:
HR Specialist is a customer service focused position responsible for initializing the process to fill all Aircraft Mechanic Technicians, Appearance Technicians and Materials Specialist positions on a system wide basis- based on the rules and scope of the collective bargaining agreements.
The position is also responsible for changes in employment & compensation status.
Supports leadership with manpower administrative requirements and reports.
Serves as the focal point for Technical Operations Employees covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for all administrative responsibilities.
Provides friendly customer service and hospitality with all internal and external customers
Maintains positive relationships and works in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of the company.
Works with all Technical Operations Production Leaders to fill and post all employee vacancies in compliance with the collective bargaining agreements.
Ensure each preferential bid received is in full compliance as related to the standard preferential / bid system.
Maintain and update bid locations and qualifications required for each position to maintain accuracy and fairness.
Manage and maintain Technical Operations bid areas and positions for all work locations.
Develop and maintain crew rosters as needed.
Process day trades, speed letters in SIS, OTCS and Kronos system.
Assist in management of the downline list system.
Using a computerized system track employees bids as outlined in the collective bargaining agreements.
Tracking of employees bid changes, vacation and floating holidays.
Manage and maintain seniority lists for the Aircraft Mechanic Technicians, Appearance Technicians and Material Specialists as outlined in the collective bargaining agreements.
Serve as liaison to the People Department, Business and Operations Services and other departments as required to assist with Employee hiring, employment status and pay related issues.
Complete Employee Status Action Forms as required.
Produce and provide to leadership employee attrition, headcount, new hire, manpower, labor forecasting and other reports as required.
Review step rate, 16 hour and 24 hour, and other operational and administrative reports as required for compliance and accuracy.
Maintain all employees that are covered by a CBA personnel files using the electronic filing system.
HR Specialist Background Profile:
Business or Administration College degree preferred
The HR Specialist will have 2 to 5 years administrative experience preferred
Any HR/HRIS experience is a plus
Must have PC skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must have advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data
Kronos, Quickbase and Docuware experience an asset.
A working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements is helpful, but not required
No union experience is required
Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays and flexible workshifts.
Schedule – 8: 00am – 5: 00 pm Tues-Sat with Sun/Mon off; Shift bid every quarter so the days on/off could change
