Great opportunity to get your foot in the door with an industry leader. Our Dallas client is looking for a Benefits Manager to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Benefits Manager Role:
The Benefits Manager will be a hands-on manager responsible for sourcing, implementation, and maintenance of company-wide benefits plans.
This role will have the responsibility of analyzing the benefits programs to determine the cost effectiveness, as well as whether it is competitive in the market, and it’ s legal compliance.
Manage all aspects of benefits and retirement that would include design, selection, enrollment, administration and implementation
The person in this role will also be responsible for benefits compliance on health and welfare, 401k, and pension
Responsible to ensure completion of required regulatory filings and employee communications including 5500 filings, SPD’ s, SAR’ s, Annual Disclosures, etc.
Responsible for addressing and resolving employee questions, concerns, problems by interpreting benefits policies and procedures
Work closely and be the liaison to insurance carriers regarding system compliance and claim problems and issues
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and meeting all reporting and distribution requirements
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Summary Plan Descriptions updates, pension notices, 401K and benefits non-distribution testing, ACA reporting, COBRA, and periodic audits
Develop and maintain a master compliance calendar for required notices, government filings, etc.
Make sure all benefit records are accurate and kept up to date and timely
Work closely with the Human Resources Group Manager on benefits strategy and design
Handle implementation of new benefits programs and annual benefit changes
Handle open enrollment process and benefit events
Responsible to work with vendors on setting up benefits enrollment system, data accuracy of benefit information, event planning, program renewals and communications
Ensure and maintain updated reports to reconcile and process weekly and monthly insurance payments
The Benefits Manager will conduct new employee orientation, and process 401K and pension distributions or change requests
Prepare annual reports for 401K and pensions plans

Benefits Manager Background Profile:
The Benefits Manager will have a Bachelor’ s degree in HR or related area
8-12 years progressive experience in benefits administration
Experience with 401K plan administration is highly preferred
Experience in a manufacturing industry is a plus
Experience with pension plans if also a plus
Knowledge of US benefits and retirement practices, laws, regulations and compliance requirements
Experience with negotiating and working with outside providers/vendors (ie. insurance companies)
Some experience with manual benefits processes
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, macros, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with running all the documents including 5500 filings, SPD’ s, SAR’ s Annual Disclosure, etc is required
