Director of Business Development

Our client is currently seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth initiatives within the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid sector. This is a full-time position based in San Antonio, TX, with relocation support offered for qualified candidates.

Director of Business Development Role:

  • Lead strategic efforts to expand FMSA operations into new states and maintain success in Texas
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within HCBS Medicaid Self-Directed programs
  • Manage the RFP process and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders
  • Develop and execute national business development strategies targeting HCBS Medicaid programs
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on business cases and partnership contracts
  • Represent the organization at national conferences and stakeholder meetings
  • Monitor HCBS regulations and provide guidance to leadership
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and service excellence

Director of Business Development Background Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level business development experience in healthcare or Medicaid
  • At least 3 years of direct RFP experience in HCBS or related sectors
  • Prior experience with HCBS or FMSA programs preferred
  • Demonstrated success in expanding operations and securing contracts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills
  • Ability to type 35 WPM with 80% accuracy in Excel

Job Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Masterâ s degree preferred, 5+ years in a senior-level business development or leadership role within healthcare or Medicaid programs, 3+ years of direct RFP experience, including drafting and managing submissions in the HCBS or related sectors, Experience with Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) or Fiscal Management Service Agency (FMSA) programs highly preferred
