Staff Accountant
Job Description
Our client in Austin, Texas is currently seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join their team on a Direct Hire basis.

Staff Accountant Role:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations focusing on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Generate client statements and invoices using data extracted from Bills of Lading and Waybills
- Ensure timely payment by distributing invoices to clients and following up
- Accurately record and manage vendor invoices
- Match revenues with associated costs on a per-transaction basis for precise cost accounting
- Utilize QuickBooks Online to monitor and manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Prepare and manage journal entries in the general ledger
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare various financial reports including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements
- Provide concise monthly financial summaries and insights to management
- Gradually take full ownership of the company's accounting operations
- Design and implement scalable accounting processes and internal controls
- Evaluate and recommend new accounting tools and systems for accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with and report directly to the CFO, offering strategic financial guidance
Staff Accountant Background Profile:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on accounting experience with expertise in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, and financial reporting
- Advanced skills in pivot tables, complex formulas, data cleaning, and analysis
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online for invoicing, journal entries, and financial reports generation
- Strong proficiency in English, particularly for vendor communication
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Proactive, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Excel in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
- Willingness to engage in after-hours communication, acknowledging the nature of the business
- Long-term growth mindset and a desire to take on increasing responsibilities
