Pharmacist in Charge
Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Pharmacist in Charge to take on a leadership role in the day-to-day operations of our retail pharmacy located in Mt Vernon, Illinois.

Role of Pharmacist in Charge:
- Lead a supportive team to ensure seamless operations, regulatory compliance, and patient-centric services.
- Oversee all pharmacy operations to uphold state and federal regulations.
- Deliver exceptional patient care through prescription verification, counseling, and medication therapy management.
- Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy staff.
- Utilize PioneerRx pharmacy software to manage and optimize workflow.
- Manage compliance packaging operations utilizing Dispill for accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate weekday deliveries to patients and facilities for safe and efficient service.
- Maintain precise records of prescriptions, controlled substances, and inventory.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Establish strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and the local community.
- Ensure consistent adherence to quality assurance and compliance standards.
Requirements for Pharmacist in Charge:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail pharmacy.
- Prior experience in a leadership or management role is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with PioneerRx pharmacy management software would be advantageous.
- Experience with compliance packaging, specifically with Dispill, is desirable.

The later certification was in collaboration with the Western Association of Food Chains. And, he has received numerous awards and accolades for customer service and leadership.
Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
