Job Description

Our Dallas Law Firm client is seeking a 4+ year Insurance Defense Litigation Secretary for a very heavy 3 attorney desk.  The right candidate must have prior insurance defense experience, as the position will focus on bodily injury defense, premises liability, products liability and wrongful death. This position is a full-time, direct-hire, 5 days a week in the office.  This Firm has an excellent central location, free parking and very competitive salaries.

Insurance Defense Litigation Legal Secretary Role   
Open New Files 
E-filing and E-serve
Prepare docket sheet for each case
Prepare Answers and Discovery Requests
Calendar management and track all deadlines and responses
Know process of removing a case from State Court to Federal Court, and prepare all required documents and pleadings 
Schedule Depositions and mediations
Calendar events in Needles or Centerbase
Prepare settlement documents
Draft Motions for Continuance, Motions to Compel Arbitration, Motions to Compel
Create shells for responses to Plaintiff’s discovery requests 
Physical filing required in this position
Update attorney case lists
Download E-filings into the correct case folder

Insurance Defense Litigation Legal Secretary Background
5+ years as a Litigation Legal Secretary
Experience in Insurance Defense is a must
Candidate must be able to work a heavy desk
Experience drafting, revising and proofing documents
Previous experience with E-filing and service
Assist in organizing and filing exhibits
Must be highly detail-oriented and excellent at tracking deadlines
Excellent working knowledge of State & Federal Rules
Must be able to work independently and on a team
Need excellent oral and written communication skills
