Director of Tax Role
Oversee completion and filing of federal, international, and state income tax returns 
Reviews federal and state tax returns for REIT, partnerships, and taxable REIT subsidiaries, including estimates and extensions
Oversees performance of REIT tests and REIT administration activities
Prepare fillings of  Federal and State tax returns with the outside CPA firms/tax advisors
Oversees US tax withholding on cash distributions by the Funds
Reviews tax compliance process for real estate funds and Schedule K-1 tax reporting packages to US investors, tax returns, and tax projections throughout the year
Monitors efficiently of tax compliance, adjusting as needed to gain efficiency
Reviews the schedule of book/tax variances and year-end tax adjustments
Analyses GL transactions related to acquisitions and dispositions
Coordinates tax preparation process 
Oversees any federal and state tax audits of US entities, including handling notices received from taxing authorities
Advises senior management of the impact of new tax laws and related income tax regulations, court decisions, and proposed tax legislation.
Researches federal and state tax issues and assist in the development of ongoing tax strategies in order to minimize tax liabilities
Safeguard and protect financial assets and ensure compliance with a regulatory environment
Responds to taxation questions and provide ad hoc reports and other data required by stakeholders

Director of Tax Background Profile
Bachelor's degree (B.S) in Tax or Accounting required
Master’s in Taxation or Master’s in Professional Accounting (MPA) required
Public Accounting Certification (CPA) required
Minimum 8 years of public accounting with a Big 4 accounting firm, or similar mid-tier public accounting firm
12 to 15 years of tax experience, especially with real estate investment trusts (REITs), fund environment
Ability to manage large tax compliance processes and assignments (150 to 250 entities)
Strong technical knowledge of US real estate, REIT, and partnership tax rules
Corporate and partnership income tax return preparation experience in a multi-state environment
Current working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment
Basic understanding of cross-border tax issues and US treaty analysis helpful
Knowledge of opportunity zone tax handling is helpful
MS Excel at an expert level is required and MS Word at an Intermediate level required
Yardi at a working knowledge is required
